Tide of Reflections
From the Luminous Coast Series
Tide of Reflections captures the quiet movement of moonlit water as light dances across the surface of the sea. Rendered in expressive impasto strokes, the painting transforms the shifting tide into a tapestry of color—cool silver moonlight weaving through warm reflections cast by distant lanterns along the coast.
The surface of the water becomes the subject itself. Thick layers of paint build the rhythm of the Gulf tide, where waves gather, break, and dissolve into rippling reflections of light. Deep midnight blues contrast with streaks of luminous gold and amber, evoking the glow of shoreline lanterns shimmering across the water after dusk.
Inspired by evenings along the American Gulf Coast, the work reflects the artist’s coastal heritage, where moonlit water, distant lights, and restless surf create an atmosphere that is both dramatic and contemplative. The textured brushwork gives the image the presence of a traditional oil painting, emphasizing movement and light rather than rigid detail.
Designed as both a standalone coastal wall art print and a supporting connector within the Luminous Coast curated wall series, Tide of Reflections pairs naturally with the anchor work Nocturne Park and other pieces in the series to create a sweeping coastal gallery wall.
