The Storm
A Summer storm gathers over the quiet streets of the French Quarter as lightning fractures the dark Louisiana sky. Rain falls in thick sheets across the old turquoise facade, rattling iron balconies and washing the cobblestones below in silver reflections.
Yet among the wind and water, the Peggy Martin rose still clings to the balcony rail — its blossoms bending but unbroken.
Named for the legendary climbing rose that survived the flooding of Hurricane Katrina, the Peggy Martin has become a quiet emblem of endurance across Louisiana. Even in the heart of the storm, its coral blooms remain vivid against the darkening sky.
The lantern burns warmly beside the open door, a small beacon against the gathering weather — a reminder that within every storm there remains a place of light.
The Storm is the first movement of the Peggy Martin triptych, a visual meditation on resilience, memory, and the enduring beauty of the Gulf South. Depicted to scale at 32x48.
The Storm is printed on museum quality archival matte paper, using the finest Giclee aqueous pigment inks, designed to resist fading for generations. Offered exclusively by Tzhon Gallery.
