The Rise
Peggy Martin Series
Morning light returns to the quiet streets of the French Quarter as the storm withdraws beyond the Mississippi. The cobblestones still glisten with rain, and the air holds the soft warmth that follows a Louisiana downpour.
Against the turquoise walls of the old house, the Peggy Martin rose has endured. Its coral blossoms, heavy with rain, catch the early light as the sky opens into pale gold and soft blue. What bent in the storm now turns again toward the sun.
Named for the legendary climbing rose that survived weeks of floodwater after Hurricane Katrina, the Peggy Martin rose has come to symbolize resilience throughout the Gulf South. In this moment of calm, the vine still rises more along the iron balcony — quiet proof that beauty often survives what seems impossible.
The Rise is the second movement of the Peggy Martin series, marking the fragile but unmistakable return of light after the storm. Depicted to scale at 32x48
The Storm is printed on museum quality archival matte paper, using the finest Giclee aqueous pigment inks, designed to resist fading for generations. Offered exclusively by Tzhon Gallery.
