Embers of Silence
A Diptych in Two Movements
A study in emergence and restraint, Embers of Silence unfolds across two panels—each distinct, yet inseparable. Together, they explore the quiet tension between ignition and aftermath, where light does not simply appear, but evolves.
Across both works, deep fields of charcoal, umber, and near-black are disrupted by molten passages of gold and copper. These luminous elements move through the surface like heat beneath ash—sometimes concentrated, sometimes diffused—never fully contained.
Built through heavy impasto, each panel carries a sculptural presence. Paint is layered, carved, and reworked, creating a surface that responds to light with subtle variation—revealing depth, shadow, and movement that cannot be fully captured at a glance.
This is not decorative abstraction. It is atmosphere, held in form.
The Composition
- Panel I — “Early Burn”
A concentrated emergence of light, where energy gathers and begins to break through the surface. - Panel II — “Afterglow”
A quieter diffusion, where intensity softens into a sustained, lingering presence.
Together, they form a continuous visual narrative—balanced, but not symmetrical; unified, but never repetitive.
Available Sizes
- 32 × 48 in each panel — Statement scale for anchoring large walls, beds, or sofas
- 24 × 36 in each panel — Refined scale for more intimate spaces or layered installations
Installed side by side with proper spacing, the diptych is designed to span approximately 60–75% of the furniture beneath it, achieving a balanced and intentional presentation.

Placement Guidance
For best results:
- Maintain 2–4 inches of spacing between panels
- Center the installation at approximately 57–60 inches from the floor
- Ensure total width aligns with 60–75% of the furniture beneath
These principles create a composition that feels grounded, intentional, and complete.
Final Note
Embers of Silence is a work that reveals itself gradually—through shifting light, distance, and perspective. It invites pause, not attention; presence, not decoration.
