A solitary wind-shaped Monterey Cypress clings to the cliff’s edge, its twisted trunk and outstretched branches bearing the memory of the winds that have shaped it. The sea still churns below, waves striking the rock with restless energy, yet the sky has opened—sunlight pouring through the thinning clouds and illuminating the horizon.

The image continues the narrative of the Sentinel Series, where the Sentinel stands as a quiet witness to the shifting power of nature. Inspired by the Romantic landscape tradition of Caspar David Friedrich, the solitary tree becomes both symbol and subject—an enduring presence set against the vastness of sea and sky.
